Since my childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the Nordic mythology. The choice of “Midgard” as logo for the company was obvious for me: it’s the symbol of "Yggdrasil", the immense mythical tree that connects different worlds in Norse cosmology (Asgard, Midgard and Niflheim). Midgard is one of these worlds – the human world.
The ring represents the enormous sea serpent " Miðgarðsormr" that surrounds the entirety of Midgard and bites its own tail. For us, this stands for the eternal cycle of innovation: the lessons we’ve learned when finishing a project give us new insight for the next one.
The tree represents the force of nature, its strong roots are the basis to start a project in the best conditions. That’s what Midgard reflects: solidity, down-to-earth strength.
In information technology, people judge the beauty of an application by the user interface – the tree above ground is this visible part. The world of data centers is the invisible – the roots of the tree – but indispensable part of the information technologie. Without this and our contribution there would be nothing to show or admire.
The branches represent our multidisciplinary know-how, while the ring stands for dynamism and interaction with our clients, in order to meet their highest expectations.
